Quiet & Safe is a trip-planning tool: it helps travelers in 26 US cities pick a quiet, well-lit block to park the car and to stay the night. The picks are grounded in each city’s own public records — every count on the site names its window (past 12 months) and its source, no scores we can’t explain, no data we invented.
Where the data comes from
Car break-ins, thefts, robberies and assaults come from each city’s official police open-data portal, rebuilt daily. Tent-camp figures are civilian 311 reports (labeled as such — they are not a crime measure). Parking facilities come from SpotHero’s public listings; hotel locations from OpenStreetMap.
How the site makes money
Some outbound links (bag storage, rental cars, hotels, parking bookings) are partner links that may earn us a commission. Partners never affect how blocks are colored or how results are ranked — rankings state their criterion on the page, and the crime data has a single source: the police record.
